Transportation Department plans include work on U.S. 77, bridge replacements

Gage County has several projects listed in the 2025 Surface Transportation Program Book that the Nebraska Department of Transportation released this week, including a sealing project on U.S. 77 scheduled for 2025.
Also in the book for the five-year planning program from 2026-30 are resurfacing U.S. 77 in Beatrice, replacing the West Court Street bridge over the Big Blue River and other bridge projects between Beatrice and Cub Creek at Homestead National Historical Park.
The U.S. 77 project would seal a 3.2-mile stretch of the highway from just south of Princeton to south of Cortland between Aspen Road and East Christensen Lane, and another 7.2-mile stretch from just north of Pickrell to Beatrice.
